On Monday, with clouds looking threatening, we made our preparations. Ladder to clean the gutters, broom to brush water from the stoeps, umbrellas at the ready, towels to mop up any leaks and rain gear. Suddenly, the heavens opened as God pulled the plug on a celestial bath. What happened next was a storm of a proportion only seen once or twice a year In McGregor. It was exhilarating to say the least. The thirsty ground absorbed the water like a sponge. 23mms in about 45 minutes. Check it out
We had this fun loving group group over the weekend. They wanted to do a potjie and this young lady showed the chef how it's done
We had some precious rain on Tuesday. We were able to capture a fair amount into our Leiwater dam which is plumbed to a part of the roof. Our tanks took a goodly amount to.
The 2017 Ride2Nowhere was awesome. The weather played ball and the cyclists that stayed at the Bacpackers were a fun loving bunch. See you all next year.
We opened our backpacker doors on the 1st September 2014, nearly 3 years ago. It has been a fantastic journey, meeting wonderful people and achieving goals and finishing projects. Now we are tired and need a break so we are closing our doors after Wacky Wine for a well deserved break and to do some maintanance and make some improvements.
We will re-open on Friday 30th June, just in time for the Winter school holidays. Here are a few memories.
We will still be taking reservations and bookings for July and onward so please stay in touch
Thank you to all the wonderful folk who have come and stayed and helped us achieve our successπ Gone Fishing!!!!!!!!
