Did you know? A fun fact about great blue herons is that they have a special vertebra in their necks, giving them a unique "S" shape. This adaptation allows them to strike quickly and precisely at fish, amphibians, and other prey with their long, sharp beaks. Great blue herons can stand incredibly still in the water, making them expert hunters and quite photogenic!
