Big Mama and Zig Zag lob tailing for us! Did you know that “Big Mama” was the first-known humpback whale to return to the Salish Sea after nearly 100 years of intensive whaling in the area. She was first sighted by our skipper and since being sighted in the Salish Sea for the first time in 1997, she has brought back 7 calves!

The WTA is dedicated to the preservation of 'Super, Natural British Columbia'. They speak up for wild salmon, demand the protection of precious forests, advocate for changes to antiquated legislation and ask that the government treat tourism on par with other industries. Wilderness tourism protects and restores BC’s wild spaces and wild species (wolves, wild salmon, cariboo, bears) and serves as a sustainable economic enterprise.

In addition to our sustainability programs, we strongly support Surfrider Foundation South Vancouver Island and our staff regularly attends beach cleanups. Through our partnership with Sea Smart we educate little ones about the importance of marine conservation, and our staff proudly educates our guests on each trip!

Through our partnerships with countless other organizations such as Ocean Wise and Pacific Salmon Foundation , we aim to create positive change in our business and in our region to ensure a healthy, long-lasting and sustainable future!
