Important information for anyone travelling to Falmouth for the Sea Shanty Festival - make sure you give yourselves plenty of travel time or consider setting off super early/late!

𝗔𝟯𝟬 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝟯𝟵𝟬 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟲 - 𝟭𝟵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲

In June the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross upgrade project will be carrying out extensive construction work at Chiverton including a major weekend closure.

As part of the work to remove the existing Chiverton roundabout, which is Cornwall’s worst accident blackspot, National Highways will be closing a section of the A30 and part of the A390 over the weekend of Friday 16 to Monday 19 June 2023.

They expect there to be delays around the closure and diversion routes over the weekend so please plan ahead, allow extra time for essential journeys and avoid the area if possible. The closure will take place as follows:

- Closing the A30 between Scorrier and Boxheater from 8pm on Friday 16 June until 6am on Monday 19 June.
- The A390 will also be closed during the weekend from Chiverton to Langarth Park & Ride.
- Diversion routes will be in place for all closures and agreed with Cornwall Council.
- Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A3075 to Goonhavern and the B3285 to re-join the A30 at Boxheater, with the westbound diversion operating in reverse.

For HGVs and Truro access, the diversion route will be via the A39, A393 and A3047.
Access will be maintained across the A30, via the B3284 at Chybucca for emergency services’ vehicles and key bus routes only.

Excited to see a new shop opening on Discovery Quay! As a fishmongers daughter (granddaughter, great, and another great!) I’ve always been fascinated by fish, fishing, the sea, (although weirdly not so keen on eating)! So I was pleased to see a traditional fishmongers, are opening their new shop this Saturday! We got given one of their ‘Identify your fish’ cards which Teddy loved doing (hey what 7 year old doesn’t love a sticker!) - great way to get the kids involved! We’ll definitely be popping in and shall be encouraging our guests 🎣 ⚓️

Can’t believe it’s been a year since we took on the challenge of replacing the kitchen and bathroom at Bank Place between guest stays!! We had just 10 days to rip everything out, get our fabulous tradesmen in, get all the new furniture and equipment in, and get the flat clean and tidy again before our guests arrived. Managed it in just the nic of time!! ⏳
