Short walk to Frome town centre and public transport. Near Longleat, Stourhead, City of Bath, Wells and Mendip Hills. What our guests say: "We were so fortunate to find Holmwood Coach House, a beautiful self-catering cottage with every amenity possible. Nicola and Chris have thought of everything and the attention to detail is so evident. It was easy to find and so convenient to walk into town to

enjoy what Frome has to offer. So many sites to see from this 'home base', and yet we felt so comfortable just taking a day off, putting up our feet and catching up with correspondence etc. Nicola and Chris have a real gem here, and we heartily recommend their coach house to everyone. Thanks again Nicola and Chris"

"We love the elegant furnishings and luxurious extra treats, beautiful garden and wonderful location, being able to walk into Frome easily. We enjoyed Rye Bakery and browsing in all the independent shops but our favourite is being by the woodburner and looking out into the beautiful garden. "Beautiful location, with view of apple trees. Ideal for exploring further afield. Lack of noise, except birds and foxes. Leisurely strolls into Frome. Idyllic surroundings, amidst a wildlife garden. Amiable and natural host, Nicola. Thoughtful touches of biscuits, tea and milk and tastefully designed house. Please take a peep at our website for more reviews.

Took the train on the Heart of Wessex Line from Frome to Weymouth for a breezy day at Cheshil Bank and Fleet Nature Reserve, spotting a kestrel and oystercatchers and hearing skylarks, then a wander around pretty Weymouth harbour.

Have submitted my RSPB garden birdwatch results for 2024 which included sightings of blackbird, blue tit, coal tit, great tit, chaffinch, goldfinch, robin and wood pigeon - other birds we spot regularly are nuthatch, long-tailed tit and dunnock but they didn't turn up to feed at the right time! There are many other birds that we hear or spot at different times of the day and night in our garden like the wren, thrush, goldcrest, raven, crow, magpie, great spotted woodpecker and tawny owl. I also did a survey with my granddaughter for her homework which was great fun even if the results were a bit inexact - I'm not sure we spotted 5 of everything!

Windsor Hill tunnel near Shepton Mallet, part of the old Somerset and Dorset Railway, closed by 1966. There was a down and an up tunnel and following closure, Rolls Royce used the down tunnel for testing Concorde engines. The longer down tunnel has been left closed for bats and the shorter up tunnel is now part of a really pleasant walk and cycle route, looked after by a team of volunteers.

We are preparing to reopen from July in line with Government guidance in England for businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector. We will contact all our guests who have bookings with us at least one month in advance of the date of your stay so that we can check with you about your plans. Do however get in touch with us at any time if you wish to discuss your booking.

What our guests say:

"The perfect getaway cottage - stepping distance to a gorgeous garden, walking distance to a hip little town, driving distance to beautiful countryside."

"It is a lovely conversion and so quiet and yet so close to town - enjoyed the local walks and taken advantage of the proximity of good restaurants, cafes and music venues in Frome - overall a great break!"
