The nights are beginning to draw in, and the chance of spotting one of natures marvels increases. Ignore my dreadful ancient camera attempt to capture the scene. No neighbours means no light pollution apart from the odd lighthouse on the horizon makes it an excellent option here for anyone hoping to stargaze.

Spent the afternoon showing some folk around the croft. They were looking for otters to photograph, and I know a few great spots where you might be lucky. Plus we pulled up my creel so its lobster for supper! If you are into wildlife, walking or just getting away from it all this is a great spot. A comfortable base from which to explore this stunning part of the island. Shorter stays available. Dogs welcome.

Perfect weather to get the bedding out on the line. A beautiful day, even the hens are sunbathing. Come and stay in this superbly peaceful rural location and enjoy line dried sheets and even the odd golden yolked egg if the hens are behaving. 💛

Sun setting behind Roneval. There has been a huge influx of redwings and waxwings over the last few days and this is the perfect spot to watch them feeding.

St Clements church in Rodel. Called the grandest medieval building in the Western Isles, founded by Alasdair “Crotach” Macleod who died in 1547 and lies here in this wonderfully carved tomb. A fascinating place.
