If you stay at The Haven this year, put Tuesday in your diary for a visit to the Mothecombe Gardens - walled gardens, an orchard, a bee garden, a camellia walk, and more, all within a gentle woodland valley sloping down towards a breathtaking view of the sea.

Mothecombe Gardens will be opening again from Tuesday 11th of February. Come and explore our enchanted gardens followed by a slice of home made cake 🍰

The gardens will remain open ever Tuesday until the end of August from 10 - 4pm.
Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on a lead 🐶

Throughout will be hosting some exhibitions too so keep an eye on our social media!

🌧 With the miserable and dreary weather of February settling in, it's definitely time to think ahead to the summer!

☀️ Why not dream of long walks on a sunny Bigbury Beach with perhaps a drink at The Pilchard Inn afterwards? Only 20 minutes drive from Ugborough.

🚿 We provide one for each bathroom so you can all smell fresh during your stay, or take them home as a little Devon souvenir.

Inspired by our recent photo shoot and gallery of new photos, I decided it was time that The Haven Ugborough had its own website. Et voilà! https://www.thehavenugborough.uk/

Availability and booking is still via the AirBNB page, and always will be, but the dedicated website allows a bit more flexibility in terms of describing the property and posting all the lovely photos.

If you want to tell anyone about The Haven, point them to our new website. It's so new that the search engine bots are still in the process of picking it up but it's there, it's live!

And yes, it is always cream on first in Devon. Always.

According to the weather man, the weather is going to improve in August - "higher than average temperatures seem a little more likely [and] increased chance of some brief hot spells". ☀️

If you like swimming in the sea, you could swim here at Mothecombe Beach on the Flete Estate (now classified as an official bathing water by the Environment Agency). 🏊‍♀️

Or if surfing is more your thing, try the Discovery Surf School at Bigbury Beach.🏄‍♀️

If you HAVE to work whilst on holiday at The Haven, this lovely workspace makes it a little more bearable. It’s in Bedroom 1 at the back of the house so all quiet and peaceful (you can *just* hear the church clock when it chimes), with a lovely view over the garden, the village roofs and the fields beyond.

☀️ The weather forecast looks good - sunshine and 25 degrees. (Disclaimer: we cannot 100% guarantee good weather - it IS Devon - but it is looking promising.)

Why not have escape for a mini-break before the schools break up?
How about 🏖️ a trip to the beach, 🏞️ a walk on Dartmoor, 🌼 relaxing in our sunny, enclosed garden, 🍺 or a beer at the pub which is 50 metres from our front door? 🐾 And we welcome well-behaved dogs.

👀 Look at those blue skies. And even more importantly, look at our beautiful, newly rebuilt, chimney.

The builders have finished, our scaffolding is coming down today, and our first guests of the season are arriving this afternoon. Perfect timing.😬 😮‍💨

Don’t forget your swimmers when you come to stay at The Haven!

We did it! Coastguards Beach is now an official Bathing Water. An important step to help protect this special and cherished environment. The Environment Agency will now be responsible for monitoring water quality at this popular swimming spot. Thank you to everyone involved along the way that made this possible. www.ermeriver.org
