Starscape - archaeo astro experiences

Tours, events, information. Lower Danube Europe. Ancient astro alignments hunting. A lecturer and scientist by formation, I came to love exploring some time back.

Love astronomy and archaeology, so I combine them in what is known as archaeoastronomy since 2004. My travels around the world enabled me to discover many new things, some published in research journals and conferences. I have studied places in Central Europe and the Balkans (Romania and Serbia), and Eastern Europe (Armenia). I currently also serve as one of the vice presidents of the European Soc

iety for Astronomy in Culture. This unique mix of astronomy and archaeology is translated in the tours I have been organizing since 2019 (I am a licensed tour guide) in this less known area of Europe which allows visitors to get a glimpse of the past by experiencing both hemispheres: the sky and the heritage. I am happy to share that I finally released the augmented reality app for for the in . It allows users to explore and learn about this wonderful place in a 1:1 reconstruction including real-time illumination. NOTE: the sanctuary aligns with the East-West axis automatically but the accuracy depends on your phone's sensors and GPS must be enabled for accurate sunlight.

Some amazing features on the Sun today taken with my scope and camera. Experts indicate that it is possible for the auroras to return to lower northen latitudes once the huge sunspot returns in 2 weeks (if it survives). We are having amazing times in the 🇨🇵 exploring ancient . Yesterday we visited the 2 replicas. The initial one left a deeper mark on me as we experienced it as our ancestors with fire torches and were guided (by coincidence we booked a tour at the same time as his) by Dr. Paul Bahn famous archaeologist and rockart expert. We still have some caves left to see and we'll be talking about all on a future post on our blog https://starscape-experiences.space

For this Spring Equinox, we recreated using techniques the 7000-year-old Sanctuary at Parta . With a group of people, we explored the site and watched the sunset as it would have been experienced by our ancestors thousands of years ago. Watch the re-enactment in the video below
