Happy National Dog Day 2021 from the Scottish Highlands. 🐾 🐶💕 This year we have been lucky to see some beaituful dogs stay Smiddy Cottage. Please share your fur baby pictures. Here is a picture of ours out on a local walk 🐾🐶🐾🐶

As Smiddy Cottage was once a working smiddy we came across some implements when we renovated the property. We have displayed these implements on the stone forge that is a main character feature of the main living area

At Smiddy cottage the bedroom has a zip and link bed which can be made into a twin on request. The room has double aspect windows so as it is light and airy however it does have black out blinds and curtains to ensure a good nights sleep.
Ample storage and hanging space behind the double "Rennie McIntosh" mirrored wardrobe.

Smiddy cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful location and is extremely comfortable and well-equipped. It has a real feel-good factor to it. Overall, I would describe it as exceptional.

As I (Jo) am taking over this self catering holiday let from my parents I have had to make up my own Airbnb account which means i am unable to transfer reviews but you can still see the reviews at present.

A guide for some walks in the area 🐾🐶🚶‍♀️

There is nowhere better in Scotland to take in the glorious colours of autumn than Perthshire. Home of Big Tree Country, the whole area blazes with reds, oranges and golds as the leaves turn. Salmon leaping and dear rutting add to the seasonal sights and sounds waiting to be discovered.

We had a walk up to the mast today at Dunkeld. It is a steep hill but the views are well worth it. We also did this walk in the summer as you can see from the pictures
At Smiddy cottage we allow one well behaved pet at no extra cost.

We are currently in Tier 2 – due to the current Government restrictions, we cannot welcome any guests who will be travelling from Tier 3 or Tier 4 for as long as these restrictions are in place. Hopefully we can see you soon.

It turned out a lovely autumnal afternoon for a walk. Annie 🐾🐶 and I walked past Loch Rotmell, Loch Dowally and on to Mill Dam. This is about a 6 mile walk (one way) from the cottage. We enjoy having a rest at Mill Dam while having a spot of lunch.

This is Smiddy House/Cottage.
The cottage is actually in the end that the Cameron Plough was made.
Below the tree in the garden you will find an original Cameron Plough that was made here.

This walk can be done from the cottage. A beautiful spot

Of the little lochs that lurk in the lands of Atholl Estates to the north of Dunkeld, Lochan Oisinneach Mor is one of the most remote and, as such, tends to attract fewer visitors than popular pools, like Loch Ordie.
