Made even Extra Special because I got to bring my little Molly along to be part of her very first St. Patrick's Day Parade!

I was lucky enough to get to sit at the bar and listening to Paul from O'Connells explain how and why they decided on the Cask they did for this lovely 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Release.

Rocky Road to Dublin today with a Tour of the Capital.
🎄🤶 Nollaig na mBan 🤶🎄
'Nollaig na mBan' or 'Women's Christmas' also known as 'Little Christmas' falls today on the 6th of January and marks the 12th Day of Christmas and the end of the Christmas Season.
Traditionally, throughout Ireland on Nollaig na mBan, the Woman of the House was to have a day of rest after a busy Christmas looking after her family.
The Man was to take on the role of homemaker and tasked with the housework & childminding for the Day.
During their day of rest, women would call into each others homes, enjoy a glass of whatever was offered and finish off the last of the Christmas Cake.
It was also thought that the taking down of Christmas Decorations before the 6th would bring Bad Luck on the house for the year.
Today in Ireland, although housework duties may be spread more evenly within a home (Trust me, I'm no stranger to the kitchen or nappy duty) Nollaig na mBan is still recognised as the traditional end of the Christmas season.
So Ladies, Keep this old Irish Tradition alive, Put the feet up, Pull the cork from a bottle and enjoy the day!

I've had the pleasure of watching this restoration project make its way back to the water over the last number of weeks,
Only a glimpse into the time and effort of the volunteers that made it happen.
I'm even prouder that I could tell the story of The Loveen to visitors to Galway and give them just a little taste of the heritage, culture and passion that this boat has in Galway's waters.
Sadly I couldn't make the launch today but I'm happy to think that the launch is only the first step into The Loveen becoming a regular and friendly sight on the shores of the Claddagh.

Over the last number of weeks I've been very lucky to share a very special side of Galway heritage and culture with visitors to our wonderful city.
The volunteers of Galway Ho**er Sailing Club] under the watchful eye of Skipper .oliver.5 have been working hard to restore and bring 'The Loveen' traditional Galway Ho**er boat to life.
Today was a special day as The Loveen rolled out of the workshop and into the fresh salty air.
The Countdown is on now to this beautiful boat being officially launched into the waters of Galway Bay over the coming days.
