Anand Pendharkar, calls himself a *'Wandering Wildlifer'* as he loves to explore and document biodiversity in urban and wilderness areas with kids, youth and adults.

Over the last 3 decades, Anand has explored the entire Indian Subcontinent from the high peaks of the Himalaya in India, Nepal, Bhutan (Ladakh to Arunachal), the hot desert of Rajasthan & Gujarat to the rainfed forests of Central Indian Highlands, the Western & Eastern Ghats. He is equally comfortable with marine life of even the Andaman Islands which he has documented via India's 1st and only Marine Biodiversity App.

He is a famous International teacher trainer, a prolific writer, published author, TEDx speaker, climate actioneer and photographer. He has designed many curricula from School level to Post-graduate degrees in Wildlife Conservation and Environment Management (MBA) and lectures across the world.

On Sat March 18, Anand will be in Delhi and will be leading a small group of nature enthusiasts (max 25) on a *Biodiversity Walk of the Aravalli Hills* at the *Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary* from 7 to 9am.

Devdutt Pattanaik so aptly describes what violence means, its not just eating non-veg, that's one part of the picture, there are many other sides to the story! Understand it!

A large forest was torn down to make a helipad for a visiting minister, who is a strict vegetarian. The mountain was sold to miners, who are strict vegetarians. An air-conditioned hall was built for monks who are strict vegetarians. Every vegetarian insisted they were non-violent. They never saw the trees, the insects, the worms, the rats, the birds, killed for their comfort. Violence was not their immediate experience. It had simply been outsourced to poor labourers. Vedic scriptures are, however, not so blind.
