Meet our new guide

Jeremie is a passionate stargazer and astrophotographer from Montreal, 🇨🇦 . He became obsessed with the Milky Way on his first trip to Australia in 2016.
He traded his engineering job for the opportunity to spend his nights under the stars sharing his passion for astronomy through stars, constellations, planets, and other celestial events. Discover the wonders of the cosmos together with Jeremie on one of our tours.

Meet our new guide Izaac

This is Izaac, a passionate, adventurous and experienced traveler originally from British Columbia 🇨🇦 .
Over the last three summers he has embarked on various guiding journeys from White Water Rafting in the mighty rivers of Canada to kayaking in and around remote islands on the rugged coastline of Vancouver island.

Since he was a kid, Izaac has always been fascinated by the mysteriousness of space and stars; this eventually led him to New Zealand, where he fell for the beauty of Lake Tekapo, the epic night sky and the mesmerizing views of the milky way galaxy. Not only does he naturally enjoy entertaining guests; when he is not at work, Izaac is exploring nature, practicing astro-photography, cooking delicious meals, or learning japanese.

Moonbow 🌈 from last night

Just like daytime rainbows, moonbows need the light from the 🌙 to be reflected and refracted by water droplets at a certain angel to create 🌈. The amount of light available from the moon is far less than the sun, so moonbows are very rarely seen.

🌕✨ Gaze Up, It's Super Blue Moon Magic! ✨🌕

Kia ora, night sky admirers! 🌌🌠 The nights of the 30th August and 31st August we will be treated to a rare and mesmerising phenomenon – a monthly Blue Moon! 🌕💙 Get ready to witness the beauty of the celestial world in all its stunning glory.

🌙 What's a Monthly Super Blue Moon, you ask? It's when we're graced with an extra full moon in a single calendar month. It will be also a Super moon becoming the third largest moon to have appeared so far this year. And let's be real, that's a cosmic bonus we can't help but celebrate!

🔍 Interesting facts:

- The expression "once in a blue moon" alludes to a genuine lunar occurrence. And, as the expression implies, they are in fact uncommon; the lunar event that will occur today and tomorrow won't happen again for many years.

- The blue moon is not literally blue, the term can be misleading. In fact, the moon will appear orange in colour
