The remarkable resilience of everyone around us to push forward... neighbors helping neighbors, there are many tears, many hugs, but we all know bring back our island and gorgeous

The clean-up has begun and the rebuilding is happening.
We would like to say "Thank You" for your continued support! And thank you to the Search & Rescue Team (including their dog), the police and the amazing for always keeping us informed! We love you all!! ❤️

Here are some more clear pictures from the top… the house who floated by our place actually took down some of the front yard palms and our neighbors fence. Some of the newly planted landscaping is still in there - not sure how but it is. Amazing that the boat dock is still mainly there and the lift. Even the skinny old beautiful tall palm tree 🌴 in the back is standing 💪 ❤️! The other side of the house you will see the other neighbors home is completely gone. Part of their green roof is on the side of our house. 💔 The island is still closed down for the completion of the search and rescue efforts 🙏. Homeowners and businesses maybe able to come back on the island to check on their properties by later this weekend - hopefully…

Our hearts and prayers go out to all the victims and survivors of hurricane Ian! Please see the latest update, the beautiful will be closed to ALL effective immediately with no access to the island for the safety of the crews still working to Complete the necessary Search and Rescue operations. 🙏 Our hearts are broken for the loss of life and massive destruction of beautiful island 💔

Sunsational Sunsets made all the local and National news channels as they had video of our place & reported the high surges and 155 miles an hour winds pounding the beach and other homes for hours. On the news we all watched in horror other homes away, restaurants get wiped out, cars and boats literally floating down streets. New homes in beach communities are required to be build to code with medal pilings - engineers require at least 20 to 25 feet embedment to get bearing a home may need, but this was a massive Cat 4, almost Cat 5... even with metal bearings will this new home, Sunsational Sunsets be standing after? In the pictures, you can see we almost had her ready for your future vacations, just a few more chandeliers need to be put up, paint touch ups, a couple mirrors, we just had some palms planted and landscape rocks put in...then we had to leave the island, Ian kept shifting course and hit the island hard. We had friends who won't leave the island when Ian hit. For the most part, they are safe, devastated, but alive.

Some people are still missing and we will continue to pray for all of them. People are overwhelmed - our one friend who checked on Sunsuational Sunsets before leaving the island after the storm, shared the the house overall is in really good shape. The house doesn't seem to have much damage at all. thank goodness. It was jokingly said, the pool is now filled with fresh salt water... trying to find anything positive in this great devastation of this beautiful community. This is overwhelming. Our neighbors home on the one side is gone, one neighbors home is now sitting in our others neigbors front yard. We have included the pictures in this post.
