Possible itinerary for Isandlwana/Rorkes Drift excursion (please note this is not a tour, but a self drive effort) Those without transport could share costs with vehicle owners willing to accommodate them :-
20 Jan (Friday) depart Durban at one's leisure (extra night's accommodation required)
Options - visit Blood River battlefield or walk the Fugitive's Trail (Isandlwana)
21 Jan (Saturday) - Isandlwana battlefield and surrounds
22 Jan - Rorkes Drift - return to Durban
One should be moderately fit to walk the Fugitive's Trail. It is relatively challenging and should be avoided by anyone unfit, or with an injury or disability.
There are a variety of accommodation options available from the extremely expensive (geared for foreign tourists) to the more reasonable in Dundee.
Obviously some would prefer to travel up on Saturday rather than Friday, and all arrangements are personal and flexible.
I might be able to negotiate a better accommodation rate once I have more certainty of numbers.
Keep posting on the group page, invite friends, and get historical !
