“I had a great time with the Aussies in the Rockies. I never met an Aussie and suddenly I was saddled with 30 of them. A dream come true? Everyone on my tour were so kind, open-minded, and easy-going…

I learned a few things about Aussie’s:
- If they make jokes about you, it means they like you (at least I hope so 🤔)
- They know how to have a good time, or at least find the good times anywhere in the world 🍾
- ‘Cheers mate’ 🍻

👋 HELLOO JASPER! My, my, did you put on a show for us!

👀 We’re so lucky for the chance to be tourists in our own backyard with and showing us around. But this experience has been one for the books!

We started the trip off with the amazing Northern Lights 💫 on the very first night! Of course the beautiful Jasper was just filled to the brim with wildlife each day. From black bears 🐻, moose 🫎, bighorn sheep 🐑 and countless elk 🦌 around every corner.

“Lake Louise is a pearl, Lake Maligne is a whole string of pearls.” - Mary Schaffer

Here's to the pioneers like Mary Schaffer who broke boundaries, challenged gender bias and dared to explore more.

Mary Schaffer was a botanist, photographer, writer and explorer. Pioneering an expedition into the newly established Jasper National Park, Mary dared to discover the infamous "Chaba Imne" ("Beaver Creek" as known by the Stoney Nakoda) now commonly known as Maligne Lake. Mary Schaffer became the first non-native to lay eyes upon what is now one of the most photographed lakes in the world and the heart of the beautiful Rockies.

During her time exploring the Rockies, Mary developed good relations with the Stoney Nakoda First Nations people. One family in particular was Sampson Beaver, his wife Leah and daughter Frances Louise (photographed). Mary's expedition was in turn aided by Sampson in the form of a hand-drawn map outlining the route to the lake.

Mary endeavoured to have Maligne Lake included as part of Jasper National Park and without her it might not have been preserved for a future generation of explorers like us.

Here's to the women who made it possible and inspired us to discover more.
