- The stunning Karvi flowers in full bloom
- A rare glimpse of the majestic Bamboo pit viper
- A variety of insects and spiders, showcasing the intricate web of life

The children were thrilled to discover the secrets of the natural world, and we were delighted to see their faces light up with wonder!

But that's not all! We also launched the '30 Days Green Challenge' at the end of the trail, encouraging everyone to commit to one green activity each day for 30 days to contribute to nature conservation.

A delightful family outing at BNHS Conservation Education Center unfolded moments of nature's beauty. Amidst a stroll, we were serenaded by melodious bird calls and encountered a stick mantis blending seamlessly with dried leaves. Fresh leopard marks and antler rutting signs on trees added to the thrill, while a scorpion with a grasshopper kill peeked from under a rock.

Dr. Salim's Point treated us to a stunning vista of Vihar lake, offering a serene pause. Returning via the Leopard trail, kids reveled in a playful walk through rocky streams and woody climbers, turning our day into a harmonious blend of discovery and natural wonders.

Recently, a customized trip for birdwatchers was organized at Green Valley Park. The birdwatching expedition commenced at sunrise and lasted for a total of 3 hours. During this time, participants, both experts, and enthusiasts, identified and counted a remarkable 41 bird species. Despite the absence of cameras, attendees utilized binoculars and mobile phones to capture photographs of the diverse avian population. Noteworthy species observed included the Red Spurfowl, Tawny-bellied Babbler, Orange-headed Thrush, Crimson-backed Sunbird, and two uncommon birds – the Indian Blackbird and Tickell's Thrush. A particularly rare sighting at this location in 2022 was the Eyebrowed Thrush.

A Birding Bonanza at Thane Creek

There had been three back-to-back boat rides at Thane Creek and saw a total of 34 bird species! The highlight of the day was, of course, the flamingos, but we also spotted several other migratory birds, including: Northern Shoveler, Green-winged Teal, Pied Avocet, Eurasian Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit, Pallas's Gull, Greater Spotted Eagle, Western Marsh Harrier, Rosy Starling.

It was a truly an unforgettable experience to see so many different birds in their natural habitat.

Last weekend,
a total of 46 species of birds were sighted during back-to-back boatrides in Thane Creek. The highlight of the day was the sighting of Flamingos, which are a celebrated resident species of Thane Creek. However, there were also several other migratory highlight species, including: Northern Shoveler, Green-winged Teal, Pied Avocet, Eurasian Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit, Pallas's Gull, Greater Spotted Eagle, Western Marsh Harrier, Rosy Starling. These birds were all seen flying around or feeding in the creek. The boatrides conducted by our passionate experts gave an insightful experience to all participants.

The sighting of such a variety of birds in Thane Creek is a testament to the health of the creek's ecosystem. It is also a reminder of the importance of protecting this important natural resource.

The CEC nature trail was nothing short of spectacular. It began with the delightful joy of birding, followed by the thrilling alarm calls of spotted deer and Hanuman langurs. Anticipation buzzed in the air as we waited, and soon, a fleet of deer dashed past us. The adventure reached its peak when we found fresh leopard s**t, a hint that the majestic cat had just been there.
