THE REALLY WILD, ROUGH OLD GOAT MOISTURISING LOTION...BUT BIGGER! 🐐🐐🐐

Our Rough Old Goat Moisturiser has been a firm favourite with many of our customers over the years, and it is now available in a larger 250ml bottle both in store and on our website - m-aaaaaaa-vellous! (sorry...)

Julia created the Really Wild ‘Goat Range’ with a slightly different scent profile - we’ve used woodier undertones throughout this range, which have become a more popular choice with our male customers, however, we have plenty of female customers that love the whole range too!

Our Rough Old Goat Moisturiser contains a blissful blend of geranium, patchouli, orange AND howood essential oils, which’ll leave you with a spring in your step and smelling irresistible…get your goat, you’ve pulled! (🤦‍♀️)

More happy and REALLY WILD visitors! 🙃🌿

This morning, Really Wild Julia took out this wonderful group of visitors who were here with Skye McDonald as part of the company. We always have a fabulous time with their groups and we are so thankful of their continued custom year-on-year!

Todays group came together from a wide range of countries, including the US, Canada and Australia! We hope you all enjoyed your 6 Course Taster Menu Really Wild dining experience last night, as well as your Really Wild Hedgerow Forage this morning!

OPEN GARDENS NEEDS YOU!!! 🫵

St Davids' annual Open Gardens weekend is all set for Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June, with approximately 25 gardens currently participating. However, we're still on the look out for some more willing volunteers to show off their secret gardens! 👀

This ticketed event will raise funds for registered charity and our wonderful community organisation Eco Dewi 💚 We're looking for gardens that have a natural feel to them; so don't worry about any wandering 'weeds' or wonky edging! We are especially interested in gardens that have an emphasis on supporting the stars of the gardening world - our pollinators!

If you'd be happy to open up your garden to the public for this fantastic weekend we'd love to hear from you...

A couple of weeks ago Julia and John had the pleasure of taking some of the volunteers and friends of out for a Hedgerow Foraging course...they even managed to get a day where we had some rare, dry weather!

Dewi's Acre / Erw Dewi is a community garden project that is transforming a neglected walled garden near the cathedral, into a thriving and biodiverse, sustainable garden! They run volunteer sessions throughout the year, which are a great way to meet like-minded members of the community whilst getting some fresh air!

We look forward to running more community-centred projects and teaming up with other organisations - do get in touch if you're interested in a Really Wild Collaboration!

Since we launched our Mermaid Wash it has been our best seller in the shop! We offer refills of our sublimely scented wash in our physical shop, but we also offer it in BULK for holiday accommodation providers!

If you're a holiday accommodation provider and soap bars don't tickle your tail, then contact us for our bulk hand wash prices so you can refill your own dispensers... because even mermaids need to keep their hands clean!

EARTH DAY 2024 IS HERE! 🌿

Today is officially EARTH DAY and the theme this year is Planet vs Plastics! The movement calls on all stakeholders, governments, businesses and individuals by demanding a 60% reduction in plastics by 2040 and the ELIMINATION of single-used plastics by 2030.

Here at The Really Wild Emporium we could make a song and dance about our Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Status, however, education is key, right? So instead we're sharing some beach clean pointers for you, so that the next time you visit one of the UK's 1500 (ish) beaches, you can help conserve our shorelines & remove plastics from our oceans.

Let's face it... we should treat every day as Earth Day, but even if today just makes you think a little harder about how you use plastic, it's a positive step!

A MOMENT FOR MAISY! ✨

At just 21 years old, Maisy is the youngest chef in our Really Wild Kitchen! She is also the newest member of the kitchen team, having only joined us in September last year - moving specially to the area to do so!

At Really Wild we believe that all of our staff should have the chance to showcase their creativity, whilst giving them the support they need to explore and up-skill within the areas that they are passionate about! So last week, if you were lucky enough to come to one of our Taster Menu evenings, it was MAISY'S menu you were enjoying!

Spring has sprung! 🌿 ...

It's that time of year when foraging social media pages burst into life with one of our favourite perennials.... WILD GARLIC! (also known as ramsons, bear's garlic, Allium ursinum).

Wild Garlic is believed to have a wide range of health benefits - google some medical journals - the research is there! It is usually found in deciduous woodland between mid-February to April.

Whilst we love to create spectacular dishes here at The Really Wild Emporium, full of varied flavours, we also appreciate that not everyone has the time (or the inclination) for complicated recipes that require lots of ingredients!

So here we have a super simple Wild Garlic Soup recipe for you, which can be added to and adapted easily if you want to spruce it up a bit! You don't have to be a super talented chef to enjoy the benefits of wild food - you just need to make sure you follow good foraging practise (especially when it comes to identification!).

WHAT A WEEKEND! 💚

The sun was shining, the small plates were flying (not literally) and our six course taster menu also received fantastic reviews!

We had a full restaurant for our Mother's Day small plate lunches - the Elderflower Ice Cream Profiterole with Wimberry Compote was a particular favourite! (We can see why - pic #1).

The Tir a Môr festival is fast approaching!

We will be joining in the celebrations by putting on a very special LAND & SEA FEAST night on Saturday 23rd March!

Foraging isn't always straight forward....

One of our greatest benefits here in Wales, UK, is that we still have seasons (for the time being!), each season bringing with it different plants and fruits to watch out for, but also different weather (mostly!).

Yesterday saw a covering of snow in St Davids, something we don't get very often by the coast. So it was a great opportunity for a pre-work stroll around St Nons.

Here we've photographed 5 edible plants that we regularly see on our walks here, but the snow has made them a bit trickier to identify. A great reminder of the most important foraging rule of all... never pick anything unless you are 100% certain of what it is!

Julia and Abbie had a fantastic morning this morning, running our Beginner's Hedgerow Foraging Course 🌿 We took a fabulous group of 13 adults (from numerous family cohorts) out around the cathedral lanes, learning about many different plants that you may (or may not) recognise! FORAGING TIPS! 🌿 Here at Really Wild, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do - and that, of course, includes foraging! When making use of the wonderful plant life that we have around us on our coastlines, it is essential that we do so in a sustainable way to minimise our impact on natures magnificent ecosystems. In this short clip, Julia shows us how to hand-harvest three different types of seaweed in a responsible way 💚 We filmed this clip on one of the lowest tides of the year when the kelp was visible without having to get wet! This doesn't happen very often - we're so lucky to live so close to wonderful beaches, so that we can get harvesting as soon as the best conditions arrive! The Really Wild Emporium

The Really Wild Emporium in St Davids, Pembrokeshire will be the home for a number of activities under the Company title of Pembrokeshire Seaweeds Ltd. The Really Wild Restaurant occupies the ground floor and is currently offering take away meals on some evenings and wonderful Really Wild Cakes and coffees in the mornings.

The first floor will contain the Emporium itself, with a wide range of local products that use and support the Pembrokeshire environment in a sustainable way. It is the home for the Really Wild Coffee Shop, with its wide range of Italian coffee boasting high-quality beans freshly roasted in Pembrokeshire and ground to perfection in the shop. The first floor also houses the award-winning Really Wild Soap Company. Soap and skin-care products are designed and made by Julia on the premises using the healing and soothing qualities of a wide range of wild plants and marine algae and are sold in the shop.

The top floor is the home of the Wild About Pembrokeshire Team who specialise in their knowledge of the hedgerow plants, herbs, and marine algae. Let them educate you on the inflammatory healing properties of Bladderwrack and the virus blocking benefits of vitamin D in our native Kelps. You will be amazed.

For those who prefer to avoid the slippery rocks in search of multi-purposed seaweeds, we can offer a Virtual Foraging Experience with fresh and dried samples and video and photographic material. You will also have the opportunity to taste and feel the plants and algae of Pembrokeshire in the comfort of our cosy classroom.
